July 14th, 2007 under Inspiration. [ Comments: 3 ]

Jessica Osborne, a waitress at Pizza Hut, has a dream to go college and pursue a career in photography. But with the lack of money, she can not do so.

But one Friday evening, her dream did come true. Her regular customer Becky, who orders the same pizza every Friday, gave Jessica a $10,000 tip to help pursue her college education.  Becky had recently received a huge settlement from an accident that took the lives of her oldest daughter and husband. Becky gave Jessica a $10,000 tip to help pursue her career and thought it was the right thing to do.

Facebook hit the milestone with 30 million active members on their site. That is very impressive because that’s like every person living in Canada having a facebook account. A while back, Facebook reportly refused $1 billion dollar deal to sell the site to Yahoo, but now I ‘ve read somewhere they are asking in the $2 billion range.

With all the Facebook hype, I’ve decided to create an account for the heck of it. Would you like to be my friend?

Be the Top Commentator!
July 13th, 2007 under Make Money. [ Comments: 3 ]

Being the top commentator on a blog can give you many benefits. Here are some reasons why you should be the top commentator on the top blogs on the internet:
1. Traffic- Being the top commentator can drive traffic to your site. Find a blog that receives high amount of traffic and start making comments in the blog. Post as many comments (don’t spam) as you can and you will make it on the blogs top commentator list. A site that brings in 10,000 visitors/day can help drive some good traffic to your site.

2) Backlinking- Find a blog that reward  commentators with top commentators post at the end of each month. John Chow dot com thanks his top commentator at the end of each month by posting a thank you top commentator post in his blog. Being in his post will give you a permanent backlink to his site.

3) Increase Page Ranking- Being top commentator on high Page Ranking blogs can increase your Page Ranking on your site. Find blogs with PR4+  and become the top commentator on the blogs. Having higher Page Ranking can give you better placement in Google search engine searches.

Google is coming out with new page ranking updates at the end of the month. I am currently doing some backlinking tasks to increase my PR. My Google PR is currently at 1 and hopefully at the next update I hope to be at PR4+.

If you don’t have time to post comments in high PR blogs, then why not hire oversea freelancer to do it for you. They are cheap and reliable. Contact me if you need any oversea freelancers to do any comments for you.

Why 95% of new web entrepreneur fail making money online
July 9th, 2007 under Word of Wisdom. [ Comments: 1 ]

Many new web entrepreneurs get into the making money online business thinking they can make millions like other experienced web entrepreneurs are doing. But they don’t realize making money online can be really tough especially at the beginning stages. Here are a list of reasons why new web entrepreneurs will fail.

1. Commitment and Laziness- Working on your own hours especially from home is the hardest job to commit to. Most new web entrepreneurs will be committed the first week and then after that they will start losing their desire to work online.

2. Giving up too easily - Many new web entrepreneurs will give up the first week when they don’t see money coming in. They do not realize that some websites won’t even make money their first year.

3. Setting unrealistic goals- Newcommers will set unrealistic goals to make millions in their year. And when their goals are not achieved, their desire will be lost.

4. Distractions and getting side track- Having distractions from the outside world is a key to failures. Losing your focus can put your web projects on hold for days or even years. Have a list of daily tasks of what you should be working on each day.

5. Too many tasks at once- This is one main reasons I failed in my early days. I tried to take on too many tasks that I can handle. Take one idea, work around it and once you have succeed on it, start on another.

6. Lack of Knowledge - Most will fail because they have little knowledge of making money online.  They don’t realize that there are forums (digital point) or information are out there that will help them gain more sense on making money online.

7. Taking the easy out - There is no easy way to make money online. It take a lot of time and hard work.

There are a lot more reasons why new web entrepreneur fail making money online but the ones I mentioned above are from my past experience. I hope blogging about my mistakes will prevent you from making the same mistakes as I did.

What Web Entrepreneurs can learn from Shia LaBeouf
July 9th, 2007 under Ramblings, Inspiration. [ Comments: none ]

I recently watched the new summer movie, “Transformers“ and thought it was one of the best movie I’ve seen in a while. I loved it so much that I actually went to the theatre and saw the movie twice. So now I figured that if the loved the movie so much I might as well blog about. So I did a little research and found something inspirational about the main actor Shia LaBeouf from the movie.

Shia LaBeouf from the new Transformers Movie

Shia LaBeouf, one of Hollywood’s young rising star, grew up with a rough childhood life. His dad’s resume included Vietnam war veteran, drug dealer, radio clown and a rehab patient while his mom was a bead vendor on the street. Growing up in a poor broken family made Shia a stronger kid and made himself realize he did not want to fall in the same trap as his parents did.

With his recent Hollywood success, Shia is still that down to earth guy who is still driving his Camry and living in his old apartment. You will not see him at any Hollywood party scenes but instead rather concentrate more on his acting career.

As web entrepreneurs, we can learn a lot from Shia. We shouldn’t let any obstacles get out way from doing what we love to do. We should just jump over those obstacles (failures) and keep moving forward. Don’t let any distractions get in our way by keeping focus on our tasks. Take each day one step at a time and don’t waste a second of it!

11 ways to use your girlfriend to help you make money online
July 6th, 2007 under Humor, Make Money. [ Comments: 1 ]

When building websites and trying to optimising it by yourself can be exhausting for one person. But if you have a second hand to do the little dirty work for you while you concentrate on more important things, it can lift huge a weight off your shoulder. So I came up with some ways you can use your girlfriend (other than for sex) to help you make money online. Warning: this will not work for all relationships!

1. Summit to directories- Get her to submit to directories so you have more backlinks and get a high Google Page ranking.

2. Post Comments- Tell your girlfriend to go post comment in as many blogs or forums as she can. It’s a lot better than using a spam robot. Posting comments in bigger blogs will give you good backlinks and drive some traffic to your site. Being the top commentator in a big blog will also help a lot.

3.  Proofread- Having your girlfriend proofread your writting is a good idea. It minimize spelling errors and grammar mistakes.

4.  Submit to Social Sites - After every post or article you wrote, tell your girlfriend to submit it to sites like Digg.com, Netscape, Shoutwire, Reddit etc. Submitting to these social sites can drive traffic to your site and also create good backlinks. Who knows maybe one of your article could make the front page.

5. Motivator- Get your girlfriend to push you to work harder everyday.

6. Check-up- Have your girlfriend to check up on your blog or site everyday. Make a bet with her, if you miss posting content in a day because you were lazy, tell her to cut you off for week or until you make up for it.

7. Have a competition- If your GF is also into web work, have a competition to see who makes the most money at the end of each month.

8. Use her Picture- If you have a hot GF, use her picture to start a blog. Everyone knows sex sells! Just by putting a hot picture of your GF as the blog author can drive many geeks to her (your) site. Look what it done to Jane May’s Blog. Every male geek (even me) was flocking to her blog.

9. Refresh- Tell your GF to download a Alexa Toolbar and then visit your site and tell her to keep refreshing on your page. Doing this will give you a higher Alexa ranking and will look respectable to visitors.

10. Message- We all know how our work can be stressing. Tell your GF to give you a back message while you work.

11. Excuse - There’s time when the boys want to go out for a beer but you would rather stay home and work online. Use your GF as an excuse by saying it’s your anniversary or some special occasion.
